Julia Hummer (Nina)
Born in 1980 in Hagen. After her debüt in Sebastian Schipper’s Absolute
Giganten (1999), she appeared in (among others) Sören Voigt’s Tolle
Lage (1999), Hans- Christian Schmid’s Crazy (1999),
Uschi Ferstl’s Honolulu (1999), Felix Randau’s Siemensstadt (2000), Northern
Star (2004) und Robert Schwentke’s Eierdiebe (2001). Gespenster – Ghosts is,
after Die Innere Sicherheit – The State I Am In (2000)
her second leading role with Christian Petzold. In 2001, she won
the Günter-Strack-Television Award and the Lilli-Palmer- Memorial
Camera for Outstanding Individual Achievement: Actress, and for Die
Innere Sicherheit – The State I Am In was nominated as
Best Actress for the German Film Award. At present, Julia Hummer
is concentrating on her work as a musician. Her first CD will be
released in the spring of 2005.
Sabine Timoteo (Toni)
Born in 1976 in Bern. In 1994 she completed her training as a dancer
at the Swiss Ballet Academy; she worked at the Deutschen Oper in Düsseldorf
und toured with Carlotta Ikeda’s Compagnie Ariadone. Sabine Timoteo
won both the Swiss Film Award and the Bronze Leopard in Locarno for
Best Actress for her first feature film leading role in Philip Gröning’s L’amour,
l’argent, l’amour. She has had roles in: Dominik Graf’s Die
Freunde der Freunde (2001; Adolf Grimme Award), Maria Speth’s In
den Tag hinein (2001), Katalin Gödrös’ Mutanten (2002),
Andreas Struck’s Sugar Orange (2003), Matthias Glasner’s Der
freie Wille, (2004) and Sebastian Schipper’s Ein Freund
von mir (2004).
Marianne Basler (Françoise)
Born in 1964 in Brüssel. Trained at the Conservatory in Brussels,
where she won the Actors’ Award in 1985. Moved to Paris. Numerous
film and theatre roles. Her cinema roles include: La Femme Publique (1984,
Andrzej Zulawski), Rosa la Rose (1985, Paul Vecchiali; César-nomination
for Best Young Actress), Trois Hommes et un Couffin (Colline
Serreau), Les Noces Barbares (1987, Marion Hänsel; Prix
Joseph Plateau), A Soldier’s Tale (1988, John Parr), La
Révolution Française (1989, Robert Enrico), L’Ordre
du Jour (1993, Michel Khleifi), Farinelli (1994, Gérard
Corbiau), Marquise (1997, Véra Belmont), Vidange (1998,
Jean-Pierre Mocky), Va, Petite! (2002, Alain Guesnier), Bienvenue

Aurélien Recoing (Pierre)
Born in 1958 in Paris. Trained at the Conservatoire National d’Art
Dramatique. Among his films are: Les Exploits d’un Jeune
Don Juan (1987, Gianfranco Mingozzi), Les Baisers de Secours (1989,
Philippe Garrel), Aux Petits Bonheurs (Michel Deville), Passage à ’Acte (1990,
Francis Girod), La Vie Moderne (2000, Laurence Ferreira Barbosa), La
Fidelité (2000, Andrzej Zulawski), Un Jeu d’Enfants (2001,
Laurent Tuel), Tais-Toi (Francis Veber), Cette Femme-là (2003,
Guillaume Nicloux), L’Ennemi Naturel (2003, Pierre-Erwan
